Health Care Alert - Contact Your Representative TODAY!
As early as next week, Congressional leaders could call for the final vote on sweeping health care reform based on the legislation passed by the U.S. Senate late last year. There is no question - the bill in its current form is bad for business, bad for consumers and bad for the economy.
While the majority of Georgia's Congressional delegation has said they will vote against the current proposal, pressure from the administration and Congressional leadership is mounting. Please contact your Representative TODAY and let them know that you want them to vote NO when this bill comes to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. Click HERE for contact information.
Sensible, free-market reforms are urgently needed to reduce costs and expand access to quality health care. This bill, however, will do neither of those things. Moreover, it is not bipartisan, not supported by the majority of the American people, and not the right direction for our nation. In fact, if it passes, here are just a few of things you can expect:
Your insurance plan will change
All health insurance plans will be subject to numerous new mandates and other requirements that will force insurance companies to either increase premiums or eliminate current offerings.
Your health care costs will increase
The bill as proposed does very little to control costs, and it will increase taxes on health care providers - making health care more expensive across the board for employers and employees alike.
Your taxes will increase
You can count on new payroll taxes, new taxes on investments and 401(k) plans, new taxes on many health benefits, medical devices and prescription drugs, and new taxes on all health insurance policies. In addition, as government reimbursements to hospitals and doctors are lowered, their costs will be shifted to patients with private insurance and their employers.
The federal debt will increase
This bill will cost our nation trillions of dollars - including new entitlements that will only increase in cost with time, as with Social Security and Medicare.
