Economic Development Programs

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Tour® and Georgia Quail Hunt (formerly the Fall Feather Hunt) are among the finest economic development programs in the country.

Held annually, the Red Carpet Tour® and Georgia Quail Hunt showcase Georgia's enviable business environment to corporate decision makers from all over the globe. The "soft-sell" approach used by hosts on the events makes guests feel right at home in Georgia. Guests are able to learn about Georgia's business community without feeling the pressure of a sales pitch.

Red Carpet Tour®

Beginning in 1959, the Red Carpet Tour® draws CEOs from all over the world for a four-day look at the state's thriving economic climate every April. The Red Carpet Tour®, which centers around The Masters®, golf's most storied major championship, takes corporate guests to metro Atlanta, metro Augusta and one other region of the state each year.

Guests fly around the state aboard Red Carpet One, a chartered Delta Air Lines jet. The Tour traditionally kicks off with a Wednesday night reception and dinner at the Governor's Mansion hosted by the Governor and First Lady. Thursday morning, the Tour flies to the Augusta region to learn more about Augusta's business community before spending the day on the grounds of Augusta National Golf Course for the opening round of The Masters® golf tournament. Friday takes the guests to another region of Georgia to visit with business and community leaders and hear from area executives about the advantages of doing business in Georgia. On Saturday, the group returns to Augusta to watch the third round of The Masters®.

Georgia Quail Hunt

The Georgia Quail Hunt brings corporate executives from all over the world to southwest Georgia for a unique mix of recreation and discussing economic development possibilities with top leaders in Georgia business and government.

Started in December 1988 as the Fall Feather Hunt, the Georgia Quail Hunt has evolved over the years into the premier event that is held today. Each February, guests arrive in Albany, the “Quail Capitol of the World,” for three days of hunting, shooting instruction, and networking on nine different Southwest Georgia plantations. This annual event leaves guests with a sense of “how Georgia does business” and offers each guest the opportunity to connect with the government and business leaders who recognize the benefits of all Georgia has to offer.

This event is sponsored each year in partnership with the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission, the Southwest Georgia Chamber Council and the Georgia Allies.
